SHB is honoured as a Top 50 best enterprises and Top 30 largest public companies in Vietnam

On the evening of January 9, 2020, Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company (Vietnam Report) announced and honoured the Top 50 best enterprises in Vietnam. Saigon – Hanoi Bank (SHB) is one of two private joint stock commercial banks among the six selected banks. At the same time, Forbes Vietnam Magazine for the first time announced the 100 largest public companies and SHB is one among the Top 30 leading economic groups, private enterprises and corporations in Vietnam.

2019 is the 13th consecutive year the VNR 500 ranking – Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam was officially announced based on Vietnam Report’s research results and independent assessments in accordance with international standards.

The Top 50 best enterprises ranking honours enterprises that have overcome challenges, constantly developed and made great contributions to the development of Vietnam’s economy; and promotes Vietnamese brands to domestic and international investors, businesses and consumers.

The Top 50 best enterprises in Vietnam were selected based on such main criteria as: companies named in VNR500 – TOP 500 Largest Enterprises in Vietnam for 3 consecutive years in terms of revenue; other criteria include: efficient use of capital, high potential for stable profit growth, good practices of corporate social responsibilities and significant contribution to the community.

As stated by the Organizer, companies among the Top 50 best enterprises in Vietnam can definitely be proud of themselves as the most outstanding businesses in Vietnam and can become a model of development for other businesses in the country.

Also recently, according Forbes Vietnam’s disclosure, SHB was named on the list of “100 Largest Public Companies” in Vietnam. This is the first time Forbes Vietnam has disclosed the list in Vietnam. The “100 largest public companies” in Vietnam was selected by Forbes Vietnam based on the size of the business and four criteria: revenue, profit, total assets and capitalization according to the Global 2000 (2,000 largest companies in the globe) evaluation and ranking method of Forbes (USA). According to Forbes Vietnam, HSX has 65 representatives, UPCOM has 23 representatives, HNX has 7 representatives, and the rest are unlisted public enterprises.

In recent times, SHB has been continuously honoured with prestigious domestic and international awards such as: Top 50 most valuable brands in Vietnam, Top 10 most valuable brands in the banking industry; Top 10 most prestigious Vietnamese commercial banks for 4 consecutive years, Top 30 large-cap enterprises with best annual report; Country Winner of ASEAN’s Priority Integration Sectors – Banking & Finance category; Bank with Best CSR  and Best SME Bank, etc. Each of these awards has continued to affirm SHB’s firm position in the market, demonstrated the trust of customers, shareholders, and partners, as well as the recognition of prestigious organizations and communities to SHB.
