As part of the Asean Summit 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand last week, ASEAN Advisory Council (BAC) has selected and honoured Saigon – Hanoi Bank (SHB) as the country winner in the “Priority Integration Sectors – Finance category” of the ASEAN Business Awards 2019 for its outstanding performance and positive contribution to the development and integration of ASEAN businesses community.

This year, the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) Ceremony is attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, senior leaders of ASEAN countries, companies from countries in the region, and partners and friends of ASEAN.

At the ABA 2019, SHB was honoured as the country winner in the “Priority Integration Sectors – Finance category”. This award is to be given to enterprises with outstanding activities and presence in one or more priority development sectors in the ASEAN economic community, which have significantly contributed to the process of integration and connection among ASEAN businesses.

ASEAN Business Awards 2019 has once again affirmed SHB’s position, prestige, competitiveness, connectivity and brand in the region and in the world, thereby expanding business cooperation, attracting investments from partners in 10 ASEAN countries as well as from ASEAN partners internationally.

Over 26 years, SHB has made stable, safe, transparent and sustainable growth and development steps. As of June 30, 2019, SHB has chartered capital of over VND 12,000 billion and will increase to VND 17,570 billion in 2019. SHB’s total assets reach over VND 357,000 billion, equity capital is more than VND 24,500 bil. From a bank with only 8 staff, 2 transaction points, SHB has grown rapidly to more than 8,000 employees working in over 520 domestic and foreign transaction points, 1 wholly owned subsidiary bank in Laos and 1 wholly owned subsidiary bank in Cambodia, a representative office in Myanmar, 2 subsidiaries in Vietnam, namely: SHB Asset Management Company (SHAMC) and SHB Finance Company (SHB FC).

SHB currently ranks in the Top 5 largest private joint stock commercial banks in Vietnam, Top 10 most prestigious commercial banks in Vietnam; Top 1,000 global banks and one of 16 most influential credit institutions in Vietnam’s banking system. The program is aimed at honouring brands and products voted by consumers, helping consumers identify high quality products that suit consumers’ taste. Previously, within the context of the annual program of “Vietnamese trusted consumer goods”, SHB’s debit card was selected as a Top 10 High Quality Products in 2018.
