On the afternoon of 28 October, 2013, Saigon – Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank has been awarded the Principal Membership Certificate by VISA Worldwide at the Bank’s Head Office located at No.77 Tran Hung Dao street, Hanoi. Thus, until now, SHB has been the principal member of both two largest international card organizations in the world, namely VISA and MasterCard.
This event marks a major step for SHB towards development orientation of becoming a multi-functional modern retail bank in order to meet the demand of customers for international card products and services in domestic and overseas. With VISA membership, SHB shall focus to develop Visa-branded card products and services, diversifying the Bank’s portfolio of card product and services, especially cards that can be used globally. The brand name of SHB cards thus shall be promoted and nearly 2 million customers of the bank shall be offered with better choices. SHB shall launch VISA cards based on the Bank’s system of smart EMV chip card technology, bringing to customers the highest security and convenience and minimizing risks arising during the utilization process. Customers shall experience a wide range of benefits that are available on these international cards when making payment or cash withdrawal transactions at tens of millions points of ATMs and POS in Vietnam, as well as all over the world.
