On 08/07/2015, SHB was awarded “Vietnam Domestic Project Finance Bank of the Year 2015” and “Vietnam Domestic Trade Finance Bank of the Year 2015” by The Asian Banking and Finance Magazine (ABF). This is the first time SHB was nominated for category related to project finance – one of the fields SHB has highly prioritized in recent years, and the second time this year awarded as Vietnam Trade Finance Bank of the Year 2015. Previously, SHB was honored to receive this award from International Finance Magazine (UK) in June, 2015.

The Asian Banking and Finance (ABF) highly evaluated SHB’s contributions to the building and development of Vietnam transportation infrastructure, specifically the financing of national key projects. SHB’s recent contributions to Vietnam transportation infrastructure have been highly rated by the Ministry of Transportation, to which SHB is a solid partner. In 2014, SHB was one of the leading banks who actively and dedicatedly engaged in financing projects, especially projects of construction of critical national routes (National Highway No. 1A, 6, 38, etc.). SHB has committed to financing 11 transportation PPP projects with total costs of 20,598 billion Vietnamese dongs, total financing commitments of 15,037 billion Vietnamese dongs, of which 7,000 billion Vietnamese dongs was already disbursed. Among projects financed by SHB, 5 were completed and put to use, including key projects: Nga Ba Hue Transport Intersection Project, the Upgrading of National Highway No. 1 from km 947 to km 987 in Quang Nam Province, New Dong Nai Bridge and other Bridge Projects.

Financing key projects is one category SHB focuses on not only in recent time but also in the future. On the one hand, it helps to promote banking credit for potential areas encouraged and endorsed by the Government; on the other hand it helps to fulfill SHB’s roles and responsibilities to the community as well as contributing to the national socio-economic development.
With the award “Vietnam Domestic Trade Finance Bank of the Year 2015”, SHB proved its ability as one of the top trade finance banks in Vietnam with total trade finance and international payment volume of 3 billion USD in 2014, increasing by 40% from 2013. SHB’s high credit growth rate, pricing and tariff mechanism which is flexible, attractive and suitable with each customer segment help it make a difference in the market. In addition, a widespread operating network both in domestic and overseas markets with more than 500 foreign correspondent banks in every continent and more than 400 transaction points in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia guarantees that SHB provides fast and safe international payment and trade finance services all over the world.

The achievements above help SHB convince The Asian Banking and Finance and surpass other banks to be awarded “Vietnam Domestic Project Finance Bank of the Year 2015” and “Vietnam Domestic Trade Finance Bank of the Year 2015”.
