SHB will lower the interest rate for corporate and individual customers impacted by Typhoon Yagi and flooding by an average of 50% from September to December 2024. Saigon – Hanoi Bank (SHB) has announced a special program to assist corporate and individual customers affected by Typhoon Yagi and flooding. This program includes an average reduction of 50% on interests payable from September 1 to December 31, 2024. Notably, for customers facing severe damage and challenges in resuming production, SHB may provide full support for interests payable during the last four months of the year, depending on their circumstances.
Additionally, the Bank is offering a credit package with a low interest rate of just 4.5% per year for new loans to both corporate and individual customers, aimed at stabilizing livelihoods and restoring production following natural disasters.
A representative from SHB stated, “We understand the challenges faced by customers affected by Typhoon Yagi and flooding. We hope this support program and preferential interest rate package will assist customers in overcoming difficulties, accelerating their recovery, and rebuilding their production and business operations.”
Following the passage of Typhoon Yagi, which caused significant flooding in the northern provinces, SHB and the entire banking sector contributed donations to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In a spirit of solidarity, SHB employees across the organization also launched the “Loving Heart” program, providing support for those affected by the storm and flooding. Notably, in recent days, SHB staff in the impacted areas have taken the initiative to safeguard their families, ensure the Bank’s continuous operations, and actively engage in efforts to assist their localities.
SHB representative donated VND 100 million to support the people of Ha Long city (Quang Ninh province) right after the typhoon Yagi.
In addition to providing emergency assistance during and immediately after the storm and flooding, SHB will continue to support customers and communities through various social initiatives, including infrastructure construction in affected areas. Specifically, SHB plans to sponsor the rebuilding of collapsed homes, the development of resettlement areas, and the restoration of civil infrastructure to help people stabilize their lives following natural disasters.
As Typhoon No. 4 approaches, SHB has developed practical support programs for customers and communities that may be impacted and is prepared with an action plan to stand by and assist the community.
Throughout its 30+ years of development, SHB has consistently fulfilled its social responsibilities by implementing numerous meaningful community initiatives that promote the spirit of compassion and the rich traditions of the Vietnamese people, aligning with the philosophy of “Heart” in the Bank’s culture. SHB is dedicated to fostering and sharing positive values with the community and society.
