Thanks to non-stop efforts, especially in project finance and SME banking service, SHB is the sole Vietnamese banks to be awarded “Vietnam Domestic Project Finance Bank of the Year 2016” and “SME Bank of the Year – Vietnam 2016” by Asian Banking & Finance magazine (ABF). In July 2016, SHB has been announced to be one of Top 10 prestigious commercial banks of Vietnam 2016 by Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company. The receipt of the prestigious awards has once again confirmed the trust of customers, shareholders and partners, as well as the recognition of reputable organizations for SHB.

In its announcement regarding Vietnam Domestic Project Finance Bank of the Year 2016, ABF highly evaluated SHB for 2 factors; the first is capacity and experience in financing renewable energy projects, especially the strategy for green financing; the second is interest and investment of the Bank in sustainable development projects such as The Rural Finance Project II & III, Project for innovations towards low-income people, Transmission efficiency in small and medium cities, Sub-projects under the Program to develop Vietnam’s water sector. SHB’s participation in big projects funded by international reputable organizations and financial institutions such as the World Bank (WB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), KfW Development Bank (KfW), etc. has demonstrated its capacity and experience in green financing and sustainable development financing. This is also the reason for SHB to be honored by ABF for 2 consecutive years 2015 and 2016.

Regarding “SME Bank of the Year – Vietnam 2016”, SHB is praised not only for its financing, but also for many active solutions to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) such as financial advice, support borrowers to find customers, market expansion, etc. helping SMEs to develop effectively and help SHB itself to improve credit quality and financial services. “Preferential rates for successes” VND 3,000 billion credit package; Preferential interest rates for businesses and households in rural & agricultural sector and export sector with total limit of VND 15,000 billion; Medium and long term loans with preferential interest rates, etc. which are being implemented for SMEs by SHB are considered one of key criteria for this ABF’s award. In addition, SHB’s SME banking has been honored many times by other international reputable magazines such as Alpha Southeast Asia; Global Banking & Finance Review, etc.
