The cooperation agreement between SHB and Hue University expands the connection between the bank and the university in training, human resource development, scientific research, innovation, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to improve the quality of human resources and promote sustainable development.

On October 16th, Saigon – Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) and Hue University officially signed a cooperation agreement, aiming to develop talent, improve the quality of human resources, promote innovation, and contribute to the sustainable development of the country.

With nearly 70 years of establishment and development, Hue University has continuously grown stronger, affirming its prestige and position as a multidisciplinary higher education institution, a center for training high-quality human resources, conducting scientific research, and transferring technology in the Central and Central Highlands regions and the whole country. Closely associated with the tradition of studiousness, cultural values, and the essence of the ancient capital, Hue University has become a place for nurturing knowledge, cultivating talent, and making practical contributions to the cause of education, training, and national development.

According to the cooperation agreement, SHB and Hue University will strengthen coordination in the following areas: finance and banking; education, training and human resource development; science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; research and application of artificial intelligence (AI); sustainable development and social responsibility.

Ranked among the top 4 largest private commercial banks in Vietnam, SHB will collaborate with Hue University to implement training programs, professional development, career guidance, practical training, internships, recruitment, and skills development for staff, lecturers, employees, and students.

The programs are developed based on the needs, capabilities, and processes of each party, contributing to the connection between training activities and practice, creating conditions for learners to access appropriate knowledge, skills, and professional environments.

Beyond focusing on training, the two sides will also collaborate on implementing scientific and technological activities, innovation, and digital transformation; strengthening the exchange of experiences, connecting experts and research groups.

In particular, cooperation in artificial intelligence is a noteworthy aspect. Both sides aim to jointly organize training programs, workshops, and expert exchanges on AI and data science; and to research, propose, and test AI solutions for university administration, teaching, learning, scientific research, and practical applications in banking operations.

Based on this, SHB and Hue University will survey suitable topics, connect research groups, experts, lecturers, and students with SHB’s specialized units to implement research projects, develop experimental products, internship programs, and innovative activities in AI.

Specific programs will be further discussed, agreed upon, and implemented by both parties in a separate document, ensuring information security and confidentiality, compliance with legal regulations, and internal regulations of each party.

In parallel with its human resource training and development activities, SHB will research, advise, and propose financial and banking products, services, and solutions that meet the needs of Hue University, its affiliated and subordinate units, as well as its staff, faculty, employees, trainees, and students.

The solutions considered are based on actual needs and the bank’s supply capacity; the provision and use of products and services comply with legal regulations, policies, and applicable conditions of SHB in each period.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, a representative from SHB stated: “SHB recognizes that people are the foundation of development, and considers science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as important driving forces. We expect that, through cooperation with Hue University, both sides will strengthen the connection between training and practice, leverage each side’s strengths in training, scientific research, and technology application, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources and creating practical value for the university, the bank, and society.”

At the signing ceremony, SHB donated 2 billion VND to the scholarship fund for disadvantaged students who strive for success at Hue University. On the same day, at the ceremony announcing the establishment of the School of Engineering and Technology – Hue University, the bank also donated 100 million VND to underprivileged students. These activities aim to support students in continuing their studies, developing their abilities, and pursuing their career goals.

Over the years, the Bank has strengthened cooperation with many higher education institutions nationwide, such as Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, National Economics University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, University of Commerce, FPT University, Phenikaa University, etc., thereby gradually expanding its network in training, research, and human resource development.

In addition, SHB implements many educational support programs such as building schools, sponsoring equipment and scholarships, contributing to creating better learning conditions for students. The bank also strengthens its activities in sustainable development, social welfare, environmental protection and community contribution.

The collaboration between SHB and Hue University further expands the model of connection between businesses and universities, combining the financial capacity and practical experience of the bank with the strengths of Hue University in training and research.

Through this, both sides aim to gradually concretize the cooperation contents into practical programs, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources and promoting the application of knowledge, technology, and innovation in practice.
