SHB held investor meeting to update business plan and reveal breakthrough momentum.

19-10-2026

At the SHB Investor Meeting 2026, the Bank’s leadership updated on operational performance, analyzed growth drivers, and directly discussed issues of market interest, ranging from profit quality and risk management to capital increase progress, dividend plans, the SHBFinance transaction, and international fundraising.

On October 15, 2026, in Hanoi, Saigon – Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) held the SHB Investor Meeting with the participation of representatives from investment organizations, securities companies, financial institutions, and analysts.

The conference provided a space for direct exchange between SHB’s leadership and the investment community regarding its financial foundation, business plan, and development strategy. The discussions focused on clarifying the bank’s ability to achieve its 2026 targets, the quality of growth, and how it will transform existing resources into business efficiency and long-term value for shareholders.

Overview of the SHB Investor Conference 2026

The bank will focus on selective credit growth, thoroughly exploring the needs of existing customers and expanding revenue sources from payments, cash flow management, guarantees, and trade finance.

The overarching driving force is the banking model of providing services to corporate clients and their ecosystem, expanding from corporate clients to suppliers, satellite businesses, and client employees. The “retail within wholesale” approach helps SHB develop credit, deposits, and services simultaneously, increasing cross-selling potential and optimizing customer acquisition costs.

In the long term, corporate banking, retail banking, and digital banking will develop in close collaboration on a foundation of data and technology, supporting improved productivity, service quality, and operational efficiency.

The progress of capital increase and new financial resources were among the topics updated at the Conference. SHB has completed the issuance of an additional 750 million shares and is currently carrying out procedures to record the new charter capital of VND 53,442 billion in its Establishment and Operation License, along with related procedures to list the newly issued shares for trading. The bank continues to coordinate with regulatory agencies to disclose information on the progress and timing of transactions as required.

Regarding the transfer of the remaining 50% of the charter capital in SHBFinance (now SFinance) to Krungsri, the Thai bank belonging to Japan’s MUFG Financial Group has made full payment, and SHB is expected to record a profit in the fourth quarter.

The funds raised will supplement SHB’s resources to focus on core banking operations, technology investment, and the development of strategic business areas. The impact on business results and equity will be determined based on the transaction value, investment value, and accounting recognition date.

In addition to its internal resources, SHB continues to diversify its international capital mobilization. On October 12, 2026, the Bank announced the signing of a loan agreement coordinated by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), with an initial size of US$340 million, which may be increased depending on the terms of the agreement.

The loan has a term of three years from the date of the first disbursement and is intended to finance eligible projects as per the agreement. The principal co-arrangers and underwriters include SMBC, State Bank of India, CTBC Bank, Maybank Securities, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and MUFG Bank.

This transaction follows two medium-term syndicated loans based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria , totaling US$600 million , that SHB successfully raised in 2025, with the participation of 26 international financial institutions.

In the bond market, S&P Global Ratings has given a long-term issuance credit rating of “AA” to the Singapore dollar-denominated bonds issued by SHB, which are guaranteed by the Credit Guarantee and Investment Fund (CGIF), a trust fund of the Asian Development Bank.

SHB has received approval from the State Securities Commission for its application to offer international bonds and has been approved by the Singapore Stock Exchange for listing the issued bonds. Recently, SHB’s bonds have officially been traded on the Singapore stock market.

The results of the first nine months lay the foundation for implementing the annual plan.

Through the 2026 Investor Meeting, SHB continues to strengthen dialogue, providing a basis for the market to assess the bank’s operations and prospects.

According to updated estimates presented at the Conference, SHB’s pre-tax profit for the first nine months of 2026 is estimated at VND 14,309 billion, an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year and achieving approximately 81% of the annual plan.

Total assets as of September 30, 2026 are estimated at VND 993,512 billion, an increase of 11.38% compared to the end of 2025, approaching the VND 1 trillion mark. Market I capital mobilization is expected to reach approximately VND 720,839 billion, an increase of 12.19%; outstanding credit is expected to reach approximately VND 678,540 billion, an increase of 9.52%.

Total operating income for the first nine months is estimated at approximately VND 26,300 billion, a 16% increase compared to the same period last year. Non-interest income is expected to contribute nearly 30%, demonstrating the role of non-lending revenue sources in the business structure.

Performance indicators continue to remain positive, with an estimated return on equity (ROE) of 25.93% and a cost-to-income ratio (CIR) of approximately 19.21%.

These results provide a foundation for the Bank to implement its business plan for the remaining months of the year, linking growth in scale with efficient capital utilization and asset quality.

Risk management goes hand in hand with investing in long-term capabilities.

Asset quality, credit concentration, and risk absorption capacity are key factors in assessing a bank’s outlook. SHB continues to review its portfolio, strengthen provisions, and control customer cash flows as it expands its operations.

Along with risk management, SHB plans to allocate nearly VND 6,000 billion to technology and digitalization in the period 2026–2030. The bank focuses on automating processes, enhancing data analytics capabilities, and improving customer experience, thereby supporting increased productivity and more effective utilization of the customer ecosystem.

Sustainable development is also incorporated into the capital mobilization and allocation mechanism. SHB’s Sustainable Finance Framework has been independently assessed by S&P Global Ratings as conforming to six sets of international principles and guidelines, covering green, blue, and social finance.

The regulatory framework governs project selection, fund management, and allocation and impact reporting, creating a basis for connecting international funding with the financing needs for clean energy, water resources, marine ecosystems, small and medium-sized enterprises, and essential services.

Through the 2026 Investor Conference, SHB continues to strengthen dialogue, providing a basis for the market to assess the Bank’s operations and prospects. Building on its existing scale, SHB focuses on improving efficiency, consolidating financial and governance capabilities, and gradually realizing its positioning as a “new generation national-level bank” .
