Sai Gon – Ha Noi Bank (SHB) has been ranked in the Top 100 largest banks in Asean region (Top 100 Asean Banks in 2014) by The Banker – a reputational leading finance and banking magazine. Based on the list that was first ever published in The Banker’s April 2014 issue, SHB and 13 other Vietnam banks are ranked in the Top 100 Asean Banks in 2014 .

Top 100 Asean Banks in 2014 are selected based on the ranking of Top 1000 World Banks in 2013, and this is 100 biggest banks in Asean in sizes of Tier 1 capital and total assets. In addition, SHB was also ranked in the Top 10 total assets growth banks (at No. 2) and Top 10 Tier 1 capital growth banks (at No. 9).

The Banker is a banking magazine launched since 1926, headquartered in London (UK) and is known as a prestigious journal in the provision of information about the activities of investment banking, retail and commercial banking. The magazine’s experts appear everywhere in the world to implement the collection of news, research, conduct interviews and provide in-depth reports on global banks. Being one of the 100 largest banks in Asean region in tier 1 capital and total asset sizes, SHB has confirmed its soundness and safety related to compliance with Basel’s guidelines on capital adequacy, as well as recognized position not only in the region but also in the world. This will support the expansion of SHB in partnership with correspondent banks and access to capital and investment opportunities as well as other cooperation opportunities with international partners.

Before this ranking, back in 2010 and 2012, The Banker also awarded SHB with “Bank of the Year” awards and in 2013 ranked SHB in the Top 1000 World Banks.
