Saigon – Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) continues to expand its “Warning for beneficiary accounts showing signs of suspected fraud or scam” feature to transactions conducted within the SHB system. By adding an additional layer of information during the transaction process, the feature gives users a basis for checking, verifying, and considering the transaction before proceeding with a transfer.
An additional layer of verification during the transfer process
To help users proactively prevent potential fraud risks, SHB is expanding the scope of its feature for identifying beneficiary accounts showing signs of concern.
Previously, the feature was available for 24/7 fast interbank transfers, based on verification against warning data from the Ministry of Public Security, the State Bank of Vietnam, and relevant authorities.
From September 2026, the feature has been expanded to online transfers between accounts within the SHB system via the SHB SAHA application for individual customers, as well as Internet Banking and SHB Corporate Mobile for corporate customers.

SHB strengthens protection for intra-bank money transfers
For individual customers, warning information is integrated into several transaction methods, including transfers to other accounts within the SHB system, VietQR payments, and transfer instructions initiated from linked platforms such as Zalo Chat and ZaloPay through direct links to the SHB SAHA application.
When users enter or receive beneficiary account information, the system checks it against the relevant warning data. If information requiring attention is identified, a notification will be displayed on the screen, providing the sender with an additional basis for verification before proceeding.
For corporate customers, the warning layer is integrated into each step of the transaction processing workflow. At the initiation stage, the Maker is notified if the beneficiary account is identified as requiring attention. At the checking or approval stage, the Checker/Approver is likewise shown the warning information for review before deciding whether to approve the transaction.
By deploying the feature across multiple touchpoints, SHB provides both individual and corporate customers with additional information to support verification before completing a transfer.
The information displayed is intended solely as a supporting alert and does not mean that the account has been definitively determined to be involved in fraudulent activity, nor does it automatically result in the rejection of the transaction. The decision to proceed with or stop the transaction remains with the customer.
SHB recommends that users who receive a warning carefully check the beneficiary account number, verify the recipient’s identity, and confirm the purpose of the transfer through trusted channels. Customers should also never disclose their passwords, OTPs, or other security information to any individual or organization, and should exercise caution when receiving transfer requests from unidentified sources.
Strengthening protection across digital channels
The expansion of this feature forms part of SHB’s efforts to enhance its ability to identify and prevent risks arising in the digital environment, amid increasingly diverse and sophisticated forms of financial fraud.
Alongside investment in technology, SHB places strong emphasis on enhancing awareness and prevention capabilities across the Bank. Employees receive training and regular updates on banking operational security, fraud prevention, and high-tech crime prevention. The Bank also coordinates with relevant authorities to identify and prevent incidents showing signs of irregularity.
In June 2026, SHB received a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security in recognition of its achievements in the “All-People National Security Protection” movement in 2025. Ms. Ngo Thu Ha, SHB’s Chief Executive Officer, was awarded the “For the Protection of National Security” Medal in recognition of her contributions to national security protection.
On the same occasion, the Hanoi People’s Committee recognized SHB as an institution meeting the “Security and Public Order Safety” standards in 2025. These recognitions reflect the Bank’s efforts in compliance, security assurance, and coordination in preventing violations.
In its day-to-day operations, SHB employees across various units have also promptly identified and coordinated in preventing incidents showing signs of fraud. In early 2026, two SHB employees received Certificates of Merit from the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crime Prevention under the Ca Mau Provincial Police for supporting the prevention of an incident involving suspected asset appropriation.
Under its Comprehensive Transformation Strategy, SHB identifies information technology modernization and digital transformation as two of its four key pillars. At the technology level, the Bank’s “5 FIRST” orientation — Data & AI First, People First, Cloud First, Security First, and Mobile First — provides a foundation for strengthening data capabilities, infrastructure, security, and digital customer experiences.
The introduction of risk-identification tools on SHB SAHA, Internet Banking, and SHB Corporate Mobile forms part of SHB’s ongoing efforts to enhance its digital transaction environment, enabling users to take a more proactive role in protecting their assets and personal information.
With a vision of becoming a “New-Generation Bank of National Significance,” SHB continues to develop digital financial solutions that are modern, convenient, and risk-controlled, thereby contributing to more responsible digital payments and a more trusted digital financial environment.
By 2030, SHB aims to become the No. 1 bank in operational efficiency, the favorite digital bank, and the best retail bank in Vietnam. The Bank also aspires to be among the leading providers of financing, financial products, and services to strategic corporate customers across ecosystems, supply chains, value chains, and green development initiatives, as well as to SMEs and individual customers. Looking ahead to 2035, SHB strives to become a leading modern, digital, and green bank in the region.
