At the award ceremony for the best financial institutions in Southeast Asia 2017 by Alpha Southeast Asia (AlphaSea) Magazine in Singapore, Saigon Bank – Hanoi (SHB) was awarded “Best SME Bank in Vietnam” for the second time. SHB is one among two Vietnamese banks honored by AlphaSea Magazine at this year’s awards ceremony.

Based in Hong Kong, AlphaSea Magazine is specialized in Southest Asia’s capital market and banks with a large audience of banks and financial institutions around the globe and professional investors from Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, Europe and Middle East. The magazine is a reliable information channel on Southeast Asian market for investors.

“Best SME Bank Vietnam 2017” was evaluated and selected based on a comprehensive assessment of the banks’ financial capacity, business results, quality of products and services and especially indicators and information on the policies, capacity, scale of financing towards SMEs.

As one of a few Vietnamese banks trusted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to be a part of the global trade finance program (TFP), SHB has fully utilized the line issued by ADB, thus diversifying its products and services, especially guarantee and import-export financing and actively supporting Vietnamese enterprises. The increased official trade finance limit to USD 50 million and the newly signed revolving credit agreement valued USD20 million in 2017 have affirmed  ADB’s trust toward SHB as well as SHB’s prestige, financial ability and immense experience in trade finance. AlphaSea highly appreciated that SHB made the most use of its loans to support Vietnamese enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, thereby contributing to the economic development and job creation.

In addition, SHB was highly appreciated for its flexible lending policies, narrowing the gap between enterprises and banks with preferential products and credit packages. In order to solve the common difficulties in procedures and time, the 24h Working Capital Loan Product has been launched by SHB for SMEs. This loan product is featured by its high flexibility, simple procedures, express approval (within 24 hours), flexible repayment policy to help customers tailor the repayment schedule to their business situation. Especially, customers can apply for loans online via SHB’s website at shb.com.vn. This is also considered one of the highlights of the product.

Since the beginning of the year, this is the 3rd time SHB has been honored with Best SME Award by prestigious international organizations. Previously, SHB was honored by Global Banking & Finance Review and International Data Group (IDG) with the National Bank of Cambodia in this category. “Once again being honored by AlphaSea to be Best SME Bank in Vietnam 2017, SHB’s brand and reputation continues to be recognized both domestically and internationally.
