On the afternoon of September 9th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Olympic Committee held a send-off ceremony for the Vietnamese sports delegation participating in the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20), taking place in Japan from September 19th to October 4th. As a sponsoring partner, SHB provided additional resources and encouragement to the athletes, helping them compete confidently and aim for new achievements at the continental arena.

At the send-off ceremony, Party Central Committee Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra encouraged the entire delegation, emphasizing that sports not only contribute to improving the health and stature of Vietnamese people but also foster willpower, discipline, a spirit of overcoming difficulties, and promote the image of Vietnam and its people. The Deputy Prime Minister hoped that the athletes would strive to overcome their limitations, compete with courage, and continue to write new milestones for national sports.

The 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20) is one of the important sporting events for Vietnam in 2026. The Vietnamese sports delegation will participate with 498 members, including nearly 350 athletes competing in 33 sports. After a period of professional preparation, the entire delegation aims to win at least 4 gold medals.

Behind every athlete lies not only the process of training, competing, and professional preparation, but also the collaborative efforts of many social resources. The participation of the business community contributes to creating more favorable conditions for athletes to confidently prepare, compete, and aim for high achievements.

As a sponsoring partner of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 20th Asian Games, Saigon – Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) allocated 1.2 billion VND to reward, recognize, and encourage athletes who achieved high results at the Games. At the send-off ceremony, Ms. Ninh Thi Lan Phuong, Deputy General Director of SHB, representing the bank, presented the sponsorship plaque to the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, offering words of encouragement before their departure to compete.

Over the years, SHB has participated in numerous activities related to Vietnamese sports, from community movements to domestic and international events and tournaments. The bank has supported the broadcasting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023; partnered with the Vietnamese national team at the ASEAN Cup 2024; the ASEAN Police and Law Enforcement Football Tournament 2025, and many other sports programs.

In early 2025, SHB chartered a private jet to fly 600 fans and family members of the players to Thailand to support the Vietnamese national team in the ASEAN Cup final. After winning the championship, the bank, together with T&T Group, also awarded prizes to recognize the achievements and efforts of the entire team.

At the 20th Asian Games, SHB continued its commitment to supporting Vietnamese athletes by providing resources and rewards for their achievements. For SHB, contributing to national sports is also contributing to the country’s overall goals, while simultaneously spreading the image and pride of Vietnam.
